2018-2021: The Beginning
ZaQi's fashion brand began informally in 2018, driven by her need for modest fashion pieces as a Muslim woman in the US. With an accounting background, she started designing for herself and friends. She eventually attended fashion school to illustrate and design outfits, discovering her true passion for fashion. Early challenges included funding, but her supportive husband helped her navigate these obstacles. As a student, she participated in Accra Fashion Week, getting noticed by influential figures like Atafo of Nigeria. She received the Outstanding Student Award in her fashion school in 2018.
